In the mountains of northern Italy, the art of woodcarving is nurtured and passed from one generation to the next. Basic techniques can be taught, but passion and sensitivity must reside in the soul of the carver. This custom sculpture celebrates that creative process, but only hints at the breadth of artistic styles. Hand carved in linden wood, richly polychromed and gold leafed. This has a matching processional cross.
